Mary's Song

                                                         Mary Visit her Cousin Elizabeth

Mary's Song
And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me-- holy is his name.  His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.  He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.  He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.  He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.  He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever, even as he said to our fathers."
Luke 1:46-55

Mother Mary's Birth Day

The birthday (Feast ) of Mother Mary

Every year the Catholic Church celebrates the birth of Mother Mary on September 8, exactly nine months after her immaculate conception on December 8 .

The Bible does not give any details about the birth of mother Mary. According to the Gospel of James (James (5:2), which is an apocryphal writing from the late second century , Mary's parents were St. Anne and St. Joachim. Ann and Joachim were childless couples. They prayed and fasted for a child. Eventually, God answered their prayers and an angel was send to Anne with a good news: “The Lord has heard your prayer, and you shall conceive, and shall bring forth, and your seed shall be spoken of in all the world.”

Let us ask mother Mary for all the intentions of our heart, especially childless couples, do ask mother Mary on her birth day for a child. She will get that favor for you. Remember Jesus turned water in to wine at the wedding at Cana on the request of his mother Mary.
Remember, O most gracious virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided.”

Assumption of Mother Mary

Feast of the Assumption of Mother Mary -August 15th

Belief in Mother Mary's bodily assumption to heaven goes back to apostolic times. The Feast of the Assumption is a very old feast of the Church, celebrated universally by the sixth century.

The feast day recalls the spiritual and physical departure of our mother of Christ from the earth to heaven, when both her soul and her body were taken into the presence of God.

Although,Scripture does not give an account of Mary’s Assumption into Heaven, she was closely associated with all the mysteries of Jesus’ life, definitely she will be with him in heaven.

Pope Pius XII , on November 1, 1950, declared the Assumption of Mary to be a dogma of faith: “We pronounce, declare and define it to be a divinely revealed dogma that the immaculate Mother of God, the ever Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul to heavenly glory.”

The feast of the Assumption is always a Holy Day of Obligation for Catholics, on which they are obliged to attend holy Mass.
On her feast, let us ask our Mother to intercede for us.
Happy Feast

TO JESUS THROUGH MARY

Mother Mary & Archbishop Fulton Sheen

Fulton Sheen was the bishop of Rochester, New York . He was the most influential catholic of the 20th century. He became famous through his weekly television program"Life is Worth Living" and his radio program "The Catholic Hour". He was a devotee of Mother Mary. His Motto was Grant that I may come to You through Mary. He died on December 9, 1979. And the story goes like this :
After bishop Fulton's death his sole went straight to heaven. At the entrance St. Peter welcomed him and opened the door for him. He saw Jesus siting at the right hand of his father and he could hear arch angels and angels praising God. He went straight to Jesus and asked him. Did you recognize me ?Jesus looked at him and said “No, I did not recognize you. Fulton perplexed and said I am a devotee of Mother Mary. Jesus replied “well now I remember my mother used to tell me a lot about you.”Welcome to the kingdom of my father.

Start Praying Rosary Daily

Marian Month of May
The Catholic Church dedicates each month of the year to certain devotion. In May, it is the Blessed Virgin Mary. So, May is a very good month to begin praying the rosary daily.

Why pray the Rosary? We pray Rosary to grow in holiness and in one's prayer life. The following are a few others reasons why the rosary should be prayed daily:

  • "Among all the devotions approved by the Church none has been so favoured by so many miracles as the devotion of the Most Holy Rosary" (Pope Pius IX).
  • "Say the Rosary every day to obtain peace for the world" (Our Lady of Fatima).
  • "There is no surer means of calling down God's blessings upon the family . . . than the daily recitation of the Rosary" (Pope Pius XII).
  • "We do not hesitate to affirm again publicly that we put great confidence in the Holy Rosary for the healing of evils of our times" (Pope Pius XII).
  • "No one can live continually in sin and continue to say the Rosary: either they will give up sin or they will give up the Rosary" (Bishop Hugh Doyle).
  • "The Rosary is a magnificent and universal prayer for the needs of the Church, the nations and the entire world" (Pope John XXIII).
  • "The Rosary is the compendium of the entire Gospel" (Pope Paul VI quoting Pope Pius XII).
  • "Meditation on the mysteries of the Rosary . . . can be an excellent preparation for the celebration of those same mysteries in the liturgical actions [i.e. the Mass] and can also become a continuing echo thereof" (Pope Paul VI).
  • "My impression is that the Rosary is of the greatest value not only according to the words of Our Lady at Fatima, but according to the effects of the Rosary one sees throughout history. My impression is that Our Lady wanted to give ordinary people, who might not know how to pray, this simple method of getting closer to God" (Sister Lucia, one of the seers of Fatima).
  • "How beautiful is the family that recites the Rosary every evening" (Pope John Paul II).
  • Pope John Paul II has called the Rosary his "favourite prayer," after the Mass and the Liturgy of the Hours.
  • St. Louis de Montfort warns us against both the ignorant and scholars who regard the Rosary as something of little importance..."the Rosary is a priceless treasure inspired by God."

Divine Mercy Prayer

 Chaplet of Divine Mercy

(The Chaplet of Mercy is recited using ordinary rosary beads of five decades.)

 Opening Prayers

You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Begin with the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Apostle's Creed:

Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

The Apostle's Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified; died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Then, on the large bead before each decade:

Eternal Father,
I offer you the Body and Blood,
Soul and Divinity,
of Your Dearly Beloved Son,
Our Lord, Jesus Christ,
in atonement for our sins
and those of the whole world.

On the ten small beads of each decade, say:

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,
have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Conclude with (Say 3 Times):

Holy God,
Holy Mighty One,
Holy Immortal One,
have mercy on us
and on the whole world.

Closing Prayer

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.
